Morning Readings

Each morning at The McAuley Catholic High School, staff briefing begins with a short prayer, reading or reflection. Staff take turns to lead this week by week. When it's my turn, I use the opportunity to write my own pieces. Usually they seem to have been received quite well, so I offer some of them here for anyone who might be interested.

I make no claims for this as poetry. It is strictly occasional and devotional verse. Much of it was dashed off on the evening before it was read, or even the morning itself (I'll leave you to guess which). Some of it relates specifically to the time and place for which it was written, other pieces were more carefully considered and are perhaps a little less parochial.
